A farewell to Ted
 Printer Friendly

Ted&Aysha

Ted and Aysha share a quiet moment.

Sadly, in August 2006, one of our strongest and most active supporters passed away.
Ted Arkley teamed up with Aysha his Guide Dog in 1995. Shortly after, in 1997,
he and his constant companion moved to Blue Bay where Ted soon joined our Central
Coast Support Group.

As well as being a personal contributor each year to the Guide Dogs Centre at Glossodia,
Ted was a tireless worker, volunteer and, above all, a superb ambassador and promoter of services provided by the organisation.

An indomitable pair, Ted and Aysha regularly attended Support Group meetings and were well known on stalls and the raffle table where locals and visitors enjoyed talking with Ted and his trusty Aysha.

Fortunately, we were able to recognise Ted’s work and tremendous commitment by
awarding him “Honorary Life Membership” of Guide Dogs NSW/ACT at the 2005 Annual
General Meeting.

We, along with his family, friends, and Support Group, would like to say ... Ted, thanks for everything,
we’ll miss you.
