Guide Dogs trains you to safely negotiate public transport, road crossings and stairs Guide Dogs trains you to safely negotiate public transport, road crossings and stairs.

We assist people with vision impairment to plan routes and travel safely and confidently.

Our Orientation and Mobility Instructors train people to safely negotiate public transport, road crossings and stairs. People are also taught to orientate themselves in the surrounding environment by using their senses and nearby landmarks. Depending on an individual's needs, they can also learn to use a mobility aid such as a long cane or guide dog, or simply learn to use their remaining vision more effectively.

Our instructors will travel to any location where people require assistance within New South Wales and the ACT. The training can continue until the person feels confident to traverse the routes independently.
