Platinum Pups Program
Training a Guide Dog is costly, the difference it makes to someone’s life is priceless
Many take the services provided by each individual Guide Dog for granted. The reality is that Guide Dogs are not born, they must go through over two years of training before they can begin work. Over this period, thousands of dollars and man hours are spent on raising, feeding, accommodating and instructing each dog.
Amazingly, the total cost of this when they graduate as fully trained Guide Dogs sits at approximately $26,000, drawn directly from the generous donations made by our supporters. It was for this reason that we created the Platinum Pups program.
Platinum Pups is a very special program, allowing businesses, community clubs and other organisations to completely support an individual Guide Dog puppy in training financially.
Platinum Pup Supporters receive all of the extras enjoyed by our Gold Pups with Promise Club members, as well as:
-
The honour of naming the Guide Dog puppy
-
Regular, personalised updates on the progress of the pup
