Rail Poster - November 2008
Help someone open up the world.
Ever locked yourself out of your house? Inconvenient, isn't it? The door swings shut and you're left standing outside feeling powerless. People living with impaired vision feel much the same way. But instead they find themselves locked in.
When you cant see properly, even walking along the path outside your house can be terrifying. It's no surprise then that many people faced with this choose not to go outside at all. But there is an alternative. For more than 50 years, Guide Dogs NSW/ACT has been helping people with impaired vision lead safer, more independent lives. Some people prefer a Guide Dog, but for others we recommend the use of a mobility aid like a white cane. These days we're even teaching people to use the GPS on their mobiles to explore places they've never been.
To ensure we can help anyone who needs it, all of our services (including the Guide Dogs) are provided free of charge. And we receive no government funding of any kind, so it's only generous donations from people like you that allow us to continue our work.
Please take a moment today and make a contribution at guidedogs.com.au. You really will help someone open up the world.
