Tamworth turns it on

Kookaburra at Tamworth Meet and Greet.

"Klakkers", another local, takes a
curious look at what's going on.

A “Meet & Greet” marking our 50 years of service was held in Tamworth on Sunday 1 April with Guide Dogs NSW/ACT staff and volunteers making sure it was a happy day for all.

It gave Tamworth residents the chance to get close up and personal with clients, supporters and friends of Guide Dogs, and to learn more about canes, electronic aids, Guide Dogs and other services for people who are blind or vision impaired.

Information and merchandise stalls, a free barbeque and the chance to hear from locals who have been assisted by Guide Dogs, especially Ross McGregor who can now move around more safely and confidently through the advice and training provided by Guide Dogs.

Part of our ongoing 50th Anniversary program, Tamworth’s “Meet & Greet” proved
an enjoyable day...especially to a lone kookaburra who flew in to listen to some of
our speakers!
