Guide Dogs can go anywhere

The world's biggest Guide Dog now has a name - Gulliver! This was the winning entry in a recent public competition to name the 4.3 metre model Guide Dog.

Gulliver, the giant Guide Dog, has been turning heads across Sydney and below, made a stop from its travels in front of the Sydney Opera House.

The name Gulliver was suggested by Bronwyn Courts, of Dungog, after spotting the giant Labrador on it's travels through Sydney. "I have grown up helping raise funds for Guide Dogs NSW/ACT, as have my children, and I am thrilled Gulliver has been chosen as its name," said an excited Mrs Courts.

Gulliver, the giant Guide Dog, has been turning heads across Sydney and below, made a stop from its travels in front of the Sydney Opera House."The community has really embraced Gulliver, who has visited some of Sydney's most iconic venues to demonstrate that Guide Dogs can go anywhere," said Guide Dogs NSW/ACT Marketing and Communications Manager, Charles Ulm.

"Hopefully this will help improve community awareness as our research shows more than a quarter of Australians still don't know that Guide Dogs are allowed inside restaurants, let alone shopping centres and taxis."
