Chief Executive Officer’s message

Guide Dogs CEO, Graeme WhiteIt's been an eventful 12 months at Guide Dogs NSW/ACT, and there have been some really positive changes. The most exciting change is the newly-formed collaboration between Guide Dogs NSW/ACT and Guide Dogs Victoria.

While each organisation has always provided the same high-quality services, they have had different ways of doing things. We are now in the rewarding position of being able to build on the strengths of each team and to find opportunities to learn from each other. Though all fundraising will be retained locally, both organisations will have a shared mission to provide a higher quality of services to even more people who have impaired vision.

It's no secret that Australia's population is ageing, and most vision deteriorations are age-related. We expect that we'll need to provide for at least double the number of clients over the next 20 years. It's vital we are in a position to do this. We are driven by this challenge to be ready to respond to the needs of our community. We want to help people in more effective ways and, in doing so, make their lives more enjoyable.

I thank you for your support. It's wonderful to know you are hand in hand with us. I'm looking forward to sharing more of our successes with you for many years to come.

Graeme White
Chief Executive Officer
