About the Artist

My name is Lucy Kellaway, I am 17 years old and a Year 12 student at Ravenswood School for Girls in Gordon. I was inspired to paint a dog as I have been volunteering at Guide Dogs for the last six years. I became a supporter of Guide Dogs NSW/ACT when I was in Year five and have spent the last four years doing regular community service with the charity for my Bronze, Silver and most recently, Gold Duke of Edinburgh awards.

About the artwork

Lucy Kellaway's art dog

I absolutely love art and design – I draw as a pastime and am doing a major work in visual arts this year, so when I heard about the opportunity to decorate a Guide Dogs coin collection dog, I instantly became excited and keen to join in on the initiative. The work of this charity is honestly amazing and I’d really encourage you to show your support by paying these pups a visit and donating some change into your favourites! There are some incredible artists involved in this whole gig, and I have no doubt that the finished dogs will be just as amazing. Happy sixty years!!
