About the artwork

SCEGGS Darlinghurst's art dog

Shirley is an individual who knows her own mind as her selection of socks and footwear clearly indicates! Shirley is fiercely loyal, kind and caring as conveyed by her affectionate gaze. She is cheerful, slightly glamorous, has a sunny disposition and is friendly and wise. She loves nothing more than rolling in the grass and flowers and chasing balls. Shirley’s dreams are mostly concerned with chasing tennis balls and her liking for chops, sausages, cheese and a good T- bone steak as depicted on her base. Shirley was painted by Year nine in bright, bold, eye catching colours to celebrate her sunny nature.
