by Whitehouse Design Institute

About the Artist

Whitehouse Institute of Design, Australia presents a collaboration by high school students from rural and metropolitan New South Wales and Victoria who have been studying the Certificate III in Design Fundamentals as an addition to their HSC/VCE. These young, creative and talented students each submitted designs from the brief. The design by Grace Caruana was selected to be realised in a team effort, where each of these 60 students contributed to the conceptual design development, and the construction of this piece.

Please note that all dogs have been on display at the Chinese New Year festivities and therefore may have some imperfections. All Art Dogs for sale are available for collection from the Guide Dogs NSW/ACT office in Chatswood at the buyer's expense. Collections can be made during business hours by appointment after full payment has been received.

Doggie Diamonds is a piece in tune with the City of Sydney Chinese New Year Festival and the Year of the Earth Dog. It represents elements of nature through daylight and the evening sky whilst paying homage to the 60th anniversary of Guide Dogs NSW/ACT - the diamond anniversary.
