Guide Dogs NSW/ACT’s Orientation & Mobility (O&M) specialists conduct a variety of assessments to understand the individual needs of people who are blind or vision impaired.
The most common assessment is a functional mobility assessment which is used to understand how a person's vision loss has affected their personal mobility (e.g. getting around the house and travelling in the community).
Other assessments that people can undertake through Guide Dogs NSW/ACT include:
• Assessments for mobility aids
• Neurological vision loss assessments
• Low vision assessments
• Home assessments
• Individual Access Assessments (for schools and other mainstream sites).
If you would like further information about any of these assesments or would like to request an appointment with one of our O&M specialists, please either call us on 1800 484 333 or fill out an enquiry form.
